Urethane Floor Coatings
Urethanes can be one of the most versatile and durable topcoats available. Thats why Tennant offers a wide variety of urethanes to choose from, each providing benefits to help tailor a floor coating system that is specific for your facility and operation needs.

Some of Tennant’s urethanes already provide slight texture with a satin finish. However in order to achieve the necessary traction in high risk slip and fall areas, grit additives can be broadcasted into the urethane topcoats.
Why would I need a urethane topcoat on an epoxy floor system?
When it comes to flooring, performance and lifespan are the two most important factors. While epoxies certainly offer both, urethane topcoats are typically tougher than epoxies. These products can help increase the protection for a floor coating system, increasing both performance and lifespan, as well as the value of your investment.

- UV exposure, so it will not yellow over time
They are available in satin and high-gloss finishes. Additionally, many come in both colors as well as clear, so any intricate design or branding you have as part of your epoxy finish can be imbedded within the floor and shine through.
Most are also low odor and low VOC, with LEED credits available.
Minimal Downtime, Too
Time to cure depends on various environmental factors, such as temperature, humidity, air movement, and others.
For those facilities that need to be up and running more quickly—or can tolerate no downtime whatsoever—two of our eight urethanes offer extremely fast-curing solutions:
- A thick-coat polyaspartic topcoat that allows for foot traffic within hours of application
- A UV-cured urethane that cures instantly with UV light, providing a clear, satin finish
Eco-HPS® 100
Tennant’s Eco-HPS 100 (High Performance System) is a low odor/low VOC, chemical resistant, aliphatic, high performance topcoat with a gloss finish, helping keep floors both beautiful and functionional.

- Low VOC – 6 grams per liter
- Gloss sheen that lasts twice as long as standard urethanes; up to four times as long as standard epoxies

Tennant’s Eco-HTS 100 (High Traffic System) is a low odor/low VOC, durable, chemical resistant, aliphatic, satin urethane topcoat for high volume and heavy load traffic areas

Eco-TCP™
Tennant’s Eco-TCP (Thick Coat Polyaspartic) is a fast curing and light stable topcoat used in Tennant’s decorative flake and quartz systems and can be used over VCT tile as well

- Apply Eco-TCP at 200-267 sq ft per gallon (maximum) over a sealed surface, random flake surface, or as a topcoat
