Since 2001

Twenty-five years on British Columbia concrete.

West Pacific Coatings installs commercial concrete coatings, parkade waterproofing and structural repair from a base in North Vancouver.

Who we are

One crew, from assessment through installation.

West Pacific Coatings has been installing commercial concrete coatings in British Columbia since 2001, working from Unit 103–185 Forester Street in North Vancouver. In that time we have installed well over five million square feet of parkade membrane, industrial flooring and polished concrete across Greater Vancouver, the Sea-to-Sky corridor and Vancouver Island.

The thing that most distinguishes us from a general contractor who also does coatings is that we do not sub the coating out. The people who assess your slab, test its moisture and write the specification are the people who prepare it and install the system. When something needs a judgement call at eleven at night on a hotel ramp, the person making it is the person who wrote the scope.

We work on occupied buildings almost exclusively, which shapes how we quote. Phasing, access, noise, dust containment and how residents get told what is happening are written into the scope, because on a live building those are not details — they are most of the project management.

How we quote

Measured, not estimated.

Every quote follows a site visit. We sound the deck or the slab for delamination, test moisture with RH probes, look at the drainage and the joints, and photograph what we find. Structural repair is quoted separately from waterproofing so you can see exactly what is repair of past damage and what is prevention of future damage.

You receive documentation on completion: moisture readings, achieved surface profile, product data sheets, batch numbers and coverage rates. That record is what makes a warranty claim possible years later, and what lets you hand a building to a new manager without losing its history.

Verifying us: ask for our current insurance certificate and WorkSafeBC clearance letter, and ask any coating contractor for the same. On a commercial building your own insurer will likely want both on file.

The people who write the scope are the people on the tools.

Site assessments

Send us the slab. We'll tell you what it actually needs.

Photographs and a rough area are enough to start. We'll come out, test moisture, and scope it properly.
